It’s Monday!

In his daily post on ……In the Meantime, David Lose was talking about how he likes Monday because it is a new start.  He writes, “It’s Monday, the day everything starts over again and we get back to the routine. For some, that’s always a bit of a downer, the antithesis of TGIF. But I have to say that as much as I love my weekends, I always find Monday to be exciting because it brings a new start and new possibilities. Monday morning roles around and all of a sudden I’m ready to get something done I’d wanted to do last week, to start something new, or to make progress on a long-deferred goal.

And then I don’t.”

I understand this completely!!!  As Monday rolls around I think “I should post something on my blog.”  And then I don’t.  But, today I have, so it is one step towards something bigger.    I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

A new start

One of my friends Matthew has started to follow me on this blog.  I realize it has been ages since I last posted, December 2010 in fact.  Much too long to be away.  So here it is, a new start.  We all need the gift of new starts in life.  I am thankful for the gift of Matthew for his (unknown) urging/prodding for me to begin blogging again.

An Advent Poem

This poem comes from one of my favorite blogs I follow “Be the Change”. You can see it on the listing on the right hand side of the page. Crystal is an amazing woman and I wanted to share this with you.
Joyfilled waiting!

Welcome to the time of great expectation,
the days of counting,
the time of quiet preparedness,
the time to sit with God and wonder,
the most exciting time of the year!

For He is coming!
The One I am waiting for,
the One who gathers me up and carries me,
the One on whom I rest my hopes and dreams,
the One who created me for His purposes,
the One who is always there.

He is coming as a little baby,
sent to a world who doesn’t see Him,
to remind me again that my life is nothing without Him.
And my heart leaps with joy and excitement
as the days count down.

And I expect that
I will see Him in the faces that I meet,
I will hear Him in the hymns and carols,
I will feel Him in the hugs and greetings,
I will serve Him by helping more of His children.
I know that He desires these things for me
and that it will be very good to celebrate His birth.
And I am glad!

What are you expecting this season?
